People that like type look here plz!

the_lane

New PSU, case has a cutout for it, and I think having "AMP" on the side of my case looks stupid. Was thinking of changing it to "LANE".  Initial "sketch" attached, (I'm not much of an artist.)

Questions: making the M into an N, seems like I might have too much room between the P/E. (Also looks weird in my quick mockup.) How long should I make the bottom of the L? What I sketched feels a bit too short.

2nd pic is just messing around on my phone.

I would just cover the AMP entirely and write LANE on top of it instead of trying to convert letters.

Fair enough. Problem is then I never pick a font.

You're creating way more work for your self by trying to alter the existing lettering. Even if you change it to lane there is no way that your white and blacks will match the factory color. I would rattle can the entire thing in black and then mask a stencil onto the side and rattle can white over it. However you would all the other graphics on the side in this manner but I don't think there is a clean way of handling it other than the aforementioned method

I agree with the paint over and then stencil what you want it to say. Or say nothing at all.

UMMM maybe a dumb question, what does the "LANE" mean?

Personally, I would just primer and paint the case a different color if you want it to look different.

  • 2 weeks later...

Y'all were right.

There's still some schmutz from the contact adhesive, just waiting on the paint to dry.

Also did a coat of glow in the dark over the yellow, it seems to be /just/ visible enough.
