Help: Samsung Odyssey G5 not showing the 144hz option

So I got my new monitor, it is a samsung odyssey g5 27inch and I plugged it in my school laptop to use it at 1440p 144hz but when I got to refresh rate I only see 60 hz (see pics below and sorry for french but you can see it's 60hz). My monitor is 1440p 144hz 1ms 27inch va panel. I don't think it's because of the cable cuz I use the one that came with the monitor. When I go in my monitor option via the button of the monitor it shows 144hz. Could you guys help me on this? Thanks

What laptop model are you plugging it into and what display connector are you using?

I'm using HDMI (2.0 I think)

And my laptop model is a school one but I don't know exactly so I search the model that was written on the computer and it said HP Probook 445 G6 but when I searched it online, it was a different processor(that is normal because my school maybe modified the laptop)

They come with a few different processor specs. 

 

The laptop uses HDMI 1.4b which doesn't support 1440p 144Hz. You can try setting it to 1080p, then you might be able to get 144Hz out of it, but it won't look great at 1080p doesn't scale directly to 1440p

HDMI is not capable of 144hz always, thus the reason for Display Port, high refresh rate and high resolution output. 

 

"HMDI 1.0, HDMI 1.1, HDMI 1.2 and HDMI 1.2a won't support 144hz. But, HDMI 1.3–1.4b, HDMI 2.0–2.0b and HDMI 2.1 supports 60, 120, 144 and 240hz"

I am not sure if this was solved as it is an old thread, but for this monitor (assuming you have all the proper cables/capable computer as mentioned) you need to change the setting in the monitor itself as opposed to windows. In the monitors menu under the game tab there are some options involving response time and refresh rate you can adjust. Once changed when you go back into the windows settings the refresh rate should match.
