2600k on ASRock Z77 Extreme 4?

Hi guys,

Would my 2600k work on a ASRock Z77 extreme 4 motherboard?

Also, does anyone know what kind of USB 3.0 controller the motherboard has? I need a motherboard that has Intel/Renesas controllers(preferably native intel).

I recently got a P8Z68-v PRO from Asus, but those have ASmedia controllers, which don't work with the capture card I use to stream.

Thanks for the info!

Yes the 2600k would work.

The USB3.0 controllers on the board is 2xUSB3.0 Intel and 2xUSB3.0 ASMedia

The Intel Ports is the the bottom 2 ports (above audio jacks)

Intel i7-2600K @ 4,5GHz | EVGA GeForce GTX 780 w/EKWB Copper Waterblock | Kingston HyperX blu 16GB @ 1600 MHz | Phanteks Enthoo Primo | MSI Z77A-GD65 | CM M1000 Silent Pro | Samsung 840 Pro 128GB | BenQ XL2420T 120hz | Logitech G710+ | Razer Deathadder 2013 -

Thank you, but(and I don't doubt you), can I see the source for this?

I searched google and somebody on a forum said that the bottom 2 we're Intel. Most motherboards do have Intel and ASMedia driven USB3.0 (http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/325238-30-asrock-extreme4-ports-back)

My motherboard have the same (4xIntel and 2xASMedia i think it was) :o

Intel i7-2600K @ 4,5GHz | EVGA GeForce GTX 780 w/EKWB Copper Waterblock | Kingston HyperX blu 16GB @ 1600 MHz | Phanteks Enthoo Primo | MSI Z77A-GD65 | CM M1000 Silent Pro | Samsung 840 Pro 128GB | BenQ XL2420T 120hz | Logitech G710+ | Razer Deathadder 2013 -

http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z77%20Extreme4/?cat=Specifications

^- Supports 3rd and 2nd Generation Intel®Core™ i7 / i5 / i3 / Xeon® / Pentium® / Celeron® in LGA1155 Package

2600K will be fine. ^ Motherboard supports 2nd Gen (Sandy Bridge) i3/i5/i7's

Even though this has been stated, figured a source would be good.

Note - I also have a 2600K with a Z77 board.

Dunno about your USB issue, others can help there :)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
