Is this safe for PSU?

The  ATX power supply won't care about the high voltage.  It's designed to work with 90v .. 265v AC   (100v-240v AC +/- 10%)

 

Internally, the power supply converts the AC voltage to DC  ( 265v AC -> ~385v DC) and the boosts it to around 400-420v and then passes the electricity through transformer inside converting this 400v-ish DC down to 12v.

 

Can't say anything about the UPS or APC.

Hello,

From the past few days I am facing High mains voltage in my area 250V+ (Normal is 230V 50Hz).

So I got a Voltage stabilizer/AVR to use with my ups (Its an APC UPS that doesn't have AVR even though it advertised that it had). The shitty UPS just outputs whatever it gets on mains, when mains hits 260V it outputs 260V without trimming it.

 

 

Now the thing with the AVR is that its high cutoff is 250V after which it engages AVR and rapidly drops the voltage to 220-230V. It does this instantly but when voltage on mains goes back up it takes 30sec to switch off the AVR, so even if voltage jumps between 249 and 251 it doesn't go on switching on and off.

 

So now my question is that will the sudden trimming of voltage from 250 to 230 cause any damage to the PSU?

Other things connected to UPS (Ups is connected to AVR) are the monitor and inkhet printer.

 

UPS Model: APC BX1100C-IN

AVR Model: APC LSW1200VA

PSU Model: ANTEC EAG PRO 750 (Rebranded Seasonic Focus GM)

So sudden fluctuations from 250 to 220 should be okay for a PSU?

As long as the PSU accepts the full range of voltage inputs (100-240v) and is of high quality, it won't have any issue with such voltage fluctuations.

I'm having the same stupid issue with my APC UPS, except when the voltage hits 244V, it freaking trims it to 210V. I'm guessing the voltage drop within the rated voltage (100-240V) is fine?

The power supply won't care... it uses Active PFC to internally boost 100v ... 240v AC to around 400v DC.
