i am looking to upgrade my current cpu and MOBO
r5 1600 (non af)
asrock x370

i am set on an x570 chipset
but don't know what cpu to get. io have been advised to get a 3900x but i feel that my be overkill for gaming and streaming.

the current build is as follows
asrock killer x370
r5 1600
rtx 2070s
16gb 3000
650w gold psu

ideally the way i am looking to upgrade is
cpu+board
ram
psu

just because i am hopeless at saving.

i am in the uk so the current market is... well not good

thank you

I'd keep mobo and ram and get a 3700x. Maybe a ssd for your games as well.

What psu do you have and why do you want to change it?

apart from the gpu these components are getting handed over to my kids as they have a pc which is nearing 10 years old. hence the board and psu upgrade
the psu is a corsair 650m (semi modular) 80+ gold

Theb go for a good b550 board (absolutely no need for x570) and a 5600x if mostly gaming or 3900x if you do lots of productivity work.
