Friend is getting better fps magically?!

Alr so I have:
R7 2700

5600xt

and 16gb of ram

My friend has:

i7 8700

1060

and 48gb of ram!!!

Now he claims in RDR2 he gets 80fps ultra settings. In theory, both our computers should be hitting high 30 to low 50 fps on ultra. Now I feel like he is pulling my leg as he is a very overconfident person and always wants to be seen as better. Now, I get 400-600fps on Minecraft pvp and parkour servers, my friend on the other hand gets around 1000fps! Now mind you, his is prebuilt, mine is custom built. Is there some strange voodoo going on or am I doing something wrong?

These are hardly even similar systems. Also, is he overclocking his GPU at all? He can't with the CPU since it's a non-K, and try and verify he's actually being honest.

Well one thing I know for sure is that he is getting 1000fps in Minecraft pvp and parkour servers, whilst Im getting 400-600. His knowledge in pc components is not great so I doubt he oc'd his gpu. Problem is, is that I oc'd my gpu, while he most likely didnt, but its a prebuilt so I dunno.

8700 is a far better Gaming cpu then the 2600x. Hes full of shit saying hes getting 80 FPS in red dead 2 on ultra though with that GPU however. Unless hes playing at 720p :P

Yeah in rdr2, if he wants to hit 80fps, he's gonna need to do a few medium settings to reach that, so he's most likely lying in that part.

Yup, my ram is running at 3200mhz, stable

He could be lying about his FPS, I'd ask him to prove his FPS using MSI Afterburner

All I know is that hes not lying about minecraft fps, but RDR2 was extremely sus. He says he used to have it but "deleted" it. And when I said "download it again i want to see your fps" he started saying "trust me."
