Linus simply plays Googles "Algorithm Poker" game.

 

It's very clear that YouTube likes videos with clickbait titles and promotes them more than non clickbait titles, LMG is a business and you can't blame them for wanting to maximise hits.

 

Plus IIRC Linus did a video a year or so back where he straight up said they use CB titles because of YTs algorithm, he even promised to change them to something more suitable after the first 24 hours.

 

Finally why does it actually bother people? I don't understand why the video title is such a contentious topic?

As long as the title actually includes what the video is showcasing, I don't care about the clickbait part

I guess i remember a time where his videos were more serious, to the point and didn't require him to be pulling a stupid fucking face for everything.  I understand why it all gets done but more often than not, shit like that makes me watch his videos less.

In the examples posted above, only half of them do.

I mean, you can't tell "I've never seen anything like this..." and "You've never seen anything like this build before..." apart from the title alone.

Didn't Linus do like a livestream to fix his titles and put what was actually in the video after the clickbait part?
