i7-9700K + RTX 3090 for gaming

Hi Guys, I've been recently thinking of this config in terms of desktop. Does this kind of combination make sense in terms of efficiency of gameplay? I mean i7-9700K + RTX 3090?

I found a comparison of it with Radeon VII and with even greater CPU i9-10900K I see the Nvidia + intel accelerate better. Do you have any other views guys?

what target resolution and refresh rate?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

In terms of FPS, though trying to figure out if it makes sense to pay so much more.

Target resolution 2k, refresh rate 144 Hz.

Then an RTX 3090 (I think) will be overkill.

An RTX 3080 will probably work better.

I kind of expected this answer, though wanted to make sure I have top tier GPU as of now so that I can swap GPU later only. In such case i7-10700K would be a match? Though here we go again. I should pay  50% more:

https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-9700K-vs-Intel-Core-i7-10700K/4030vs4070

Just to have some more points in Bench. Nah...

Well, AMD is currently better than Intel, but it's kinda hard to get one of their new CPUs.

If you can, though, a Ryzen 7 5800X, Ryzen 9 5900X, or a Ryzen 9 5950X would probably match an RTX 3090 well.

Maybe I will take a look around then If it's an occasion to spare my wallet a bit... that could help. Thank you!

Userbenchmark is pretty useless unfortunately.

I don't recommend the 9700K unless you're getting a very good price, around $200. I would recommend a ryzen 5 5600X but they're scarce for the time being.

An i5-10600K would be a good option for 144Hz gaming. The 10700k would be more than you need if you're trying to save money on the CPU.
