How to search for tweets?

MS-DOS

I want to find tweets that contain X word within an username, how do you search it? i've tried with site:www.twitter.com/usernamehere "words here" but it clearly isn't searching for all the history of the tweets, it seems to be only searching recent stuff or stuff that got cached in google search or something, but im sure its not properly searching

You can add (from:USERNAME) in Twitter's search to search by user. You can also use Twitter's Advanced Search at https://twitter.com/search-advanced to achieve the same result.

You could use Google to search, but it will rate limit you if you search too much  ... for example enter something like

allinurl: john site:twitter.com

to get all urls that contain john in them.

See the advanced search page for google, but other search engines should also work with similar keywords.
