How's my list of pc gaming parts? - 2080 ti already bought

smeek14

So I already bought my 2080 ti 2 years ago but I am replacing every other component and building a new machine. Do these parts I listed sound good and compatible?

Edit: Sorry I forgot to add, I plan on getting a second 2080 ti if the prices ever come down in the future to 500-600 dollars.

I'd go for a P400A Digital, and a 850W EVGA Supernova instead.

What is this for? What are you going to do on it?

As a start:

Psu is beyond overkill and instead of getting such a high wattage one get a better quality unit.

Ram is going to perform worse than 3600mhz as 3600 runs 1 to 1 with ryzens mem controller frequency going over it basically mean that you could as well get 2800mhz ram as both are 800mhz off target. Sure you could oc the mem controller but that is as of now basically not happening as it's always been extremely hard to do and you need a massive amount of luck for it

Check out pcpartpicker.com. It should help with compatibility. I would recommend a HDD from segate because of their data recovery and warranty.

Why? Sli is officially dead and no longer has any support. The second card will literally never do anything in games anymore and just sit there consuming power

Don't forget that you can get a 3070 for a lower price that is faster in some areas.

Why? I'm assuming that he won't need over 2TB of storage, and his SSD is completely fine

He already has a 2080ti, buying a 3070 would be a huge waste of money

I've seen plenty of game benchmarks where it delivers a very good performance increase. I am seriously considering against it though.

So I should get 3600 mhz RAM correct?

Which games? There will not be any new games that will support it anymore as sli has been killed off. This also breaks compatibility in newer drivers with older games that do support it due to it no longer being maintained by nvidia (even when it was maintained drivers could easily mess it up in older ones)

However what is this pc used for and what are you upgrading from?

Not the ssd the hdd. He picked a 4tb Toshiba, and you can get a better drive like this one. https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-BarraCuda-Internal-Drive-3-5-Inch/dp/B07D9C7SQH/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=4TB+Seagate&qid=1606751436&sr=8-3

They are more expensive but from my experience they last longer. Also Segate recovered all of my data when my nas drive died.
