What CPU to get in 2020?

Is it still worth going for an i7-9700K, i9-9900K or Ryzen 7 3700X now when the new AMD 5000 series have been released?

 

The main use would be gaming and rendering in V-ray for example.

the 5000 series didn't make all other processors obsolete, you just don't want to get shafted on price.

 

Don't spend $350 or $400 on a Ryzen 7 3700X

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

You already have a Z390 motherboard, so I would assume that it may be more cost effective for you to stick with Intel.

 

Don't get a new AM4 board and pair it with a last gen AMD CPU either, that wouldn't be a meaningful upgrade (more of a sidegrade).

Yeah I would just get a 9900K and OC it to 5GHz + if you can
