New line on Android is buggy

Moonzy

Browser, version and OS:  android 10, chrome

Steps to reproduce/what were you doing before it happened?

Type a sentence, press "enter" on gboard

What happened?

If a text you're typing is still underlined (allows corrections), a new line will appear, but your cursor will still be stuck on the underlined word, have to move the text cursor manually to the new line

What did you expect to happen?

Cursor to go to new line when new line is created

Any other relevant details:

I'm guessing it's another gboard/android keyboard issue and it's not an easy fix

I've also been having this issue. Very annoying. Also backspacing to remove lines is broken as well. I believe it's an issue with Chrome/gboard and not within the control of the forum.

I think it's quite recent that I faced this issue, maybe the past day or two

As for the deleting new line, I made another post about it

This seems to be a GBoard issue - it's not sending the correct key code when you press enter (it's "Unidentified key" rather than "enter"). Unfortunately, unless GBoard reverts that change, any fix here will take quite a while to take effect.
