Corsair RM850 looking for 2 8 pin cables

Gohardgrandpa

I want to get (2) 8pin only pci e cables instead of using the jank 6+2 pin with another 6+2 piggy backed on each cable. I have no clue where I should be looking for these cables and having to use 2 of these cables with the piggy backs is messy as hell looking. Any help would be appreciated. This is the first time I've done this so IDK what's the best route to go. Don't want to over pay and dont want to buy junk either. I dont need RGB or anything crazy, would be fine with all black or black and red cables

No cpu mobo or ram atm

2tb wd black gen 4 nvme

2tb seagate hdd

Corsair rm750x

Be quiet 500dx

Gigabyte m34wq 3440x1440

Xbox series x

Honestly, Newegg is likely gonna be a fair bet for finding cables for a modular power supply, and search something like "8-pin modular cable for Corsair RM850" and steer toward the ones with lots of reviews and are highly rated.

So one cable with a hop to the second connector looks less messy than running two separate cables?  Wow.  I have NEVER heard that before.  Do you not have any small zip-ties to zip back the slack between the two connectors?  Usually, that's what I do.  Plug in both connectors, pull the slack down out of site and then zip tie everything together out of sight (either below the graphics card if mounted in slot or inside if the graphics card is mounted on a riser).

At any rate, surprised you don't know what to look for.  Corsair's been using the same pinout for PCIe cables for the last 10 years.

You can get cables that are one to one here:

I just Googled "Corsair PCIe cable".  Some say "for CS" or "for AX860", etc., but if you look at the Corsair cable compatability chart, you can see that as long as it's not for a 10+ year old PSU (AX1200, AX Gold, etc.), they're all the same:  https://www.corsair.com/us/en/psu-cable-compatibility

My link is direct to the cable, $3.99 per cable. :)

With the single connection cables you can zip tie them together so they look like one single cable going back, works best with the flat cables though.

CableMod C-Series PRO ModMesh 8-pin PCI-e Cable for Corsair RMi / RMx / RM (Black Label) (600mm) – CableMod Global Store

They are $20 per cable.

Or you can get the 6+2 from Corsair for $3.99 per cable.

Why?  If you're using all 8-pins, you can't tell that it's a 6+2.  Only when you are using just 6-pins do you end up with having to deal with an extra 2-pins.

The 6+2's can be a pain once in awhile if you swap out cards a lot etc. (Going through that myself currently)

If the connectors on the cards are close together and a 3x 8 Pin.....

Yes.  They're a pain to INSTALL.  But once they're installed, you shouldn't be able to tell the difference between an 8-pin and a 6+2-pin.
