Corsair ST100 RGB lagging

Eliptic

So I've had a Corsair ST100 headset stand for around 2 years now, however, for the majority of this time the RGB appears to be extremely laggy when plugged into a USB 3.0 port on my motherboard; I can also see that the model of the headset stand in ICUE also appears to have laggy lighting so it knows that there is something wrong. I tested the stand in a USB 2.0 port on my PC and it seemed to stop the lag, but Corsair recommends that I connect the device to a 3.0 port to fully utilise the 2 USB 3.1 ports on the device. Some methods I have tried to fix it include:

- Reinstalling ICUE

- Force updating ST100 drivers

- Reinstalling Windows

- Using different USB 3.0 ports

As I paid quite a lot for this product I would like to find a solution sometime soon. Thanks again

Have you checked device manager to make sure the USB ports are all working properly themselves?

Right click on start, click on device manager, does anything have a yellow question mark or exclamation point?

If so, print screen it and post.

Have you tried it on another system to determine if its hardware or software?

Have you tested other USB 3 devices on this machine (bypassing this device) to see if they work ok?

I assume so but just in case.

If you mean do other USB 3devices work properly. Then yes, I have a lot of other USB 3 peripherals and they all work fine

What mobo do you have? You never posted it and its not in your signature.

And are you using a front port or back port and/or have tried both?

Have you updated the bios on the mobo yet?

Asus P9X79 Deluxe.

Ok so I just tried the front USB port and that seems to work. So the issue must lie within my motherboard right? The BIOS is up to date so what else could it be?

Sounds like it yes.

If the front port was acting up and not the back, it could be the cable or what not up front.

Where its the back port (which is also usually on a different controller) i do suspect its a mobo issue.

Since the bios is up to date already, i dont have suggestions for you short of mobo replacement.

If you really wanted it working and not poking out the front, you might pick up a USB 3 card to drop in and get some rear ports.

I'm going to try reinstalling the BIOS later today, if that doesn't work I'll probably go with a USB 3.0 card. Thanks for the help man

Sorry to bother you again. Hope all is well :)

I've come back to my PC again and the lag continues when plugged into the front IO.

Maybe the issue lies within something other than the motherboard

So it seemed ok for a while then, and now has issues?

If so, does it do the same thing on the back port as far as working ok sometimes, and not other times?
