RAM for Ryzen 5 3600?

jdfieiws

Hey guys. Hope yall are keeping safe.  I was wondering what ideal ram would be for thr Ryzen 5 3600. I have been looking around and found many 3600 speed ram options for decent prices. The one I currently am looking at is the T-Force Delta RGB 2x8 3600 ram which I have posted the link to below. Is this a good match or would this be considered overkill?

Whether it's overkill or not depends on the rest of the build and how much budget you have left. It's not overkill though, you can still get faster memory without breaking the bank.

CPU: i7-2600K 4751MHz 1.44V (software) --> 1.47V at the back of the socket Motherboard: Asrock Z77 Extreme4 (BCLK: 103.3MHz) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 RAM: Adata XPG 2x8GB DDR3 (XMP: 2133MHz 10-11-11-30 CR2, custom: 2203MHz 10-11-10-26 CR1 tRFC:230 tREFI:14000) GPU: Asus GTX 1070 Dual (Super Jetstream vbios, +70(2025-2088MHz)/+400(8.8Gbps)) SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB (main boot drive), Transcend SSD370 128GB PSU: Seasonic X-660 80+ Gold Case: Antec P110 Silent, 5 intakes 1 exhaust Monitor: AOC G2460PF 1080p 144Hz (150Hz max w/ DP, 121Hz max w/ HDMI) TN panel Keyboard: Logitech G610 Orion (Cherry MX Blue) with SteelSeries Apex M260 keycaps Mouse: BenQ Zowie FK1

I'm planning on having about an 800-900 dollar build give or take. If an RTX 3060 does come out (which i believe it will) then that is what I would buy.

If you wanted to, you could go with CL16 ram, but I am doing a build very similar to you with a 3600, and 3060 when it comes out, and I got CL18 ram as well just because of the price difference.

I would try to swing a 32GB kit. At $80, you’re really not far from a 32GB kit at all. I got a Team Force kit for $96 a month or two back. You really might only be $20-$30 away from doubling your capacity. 16GB is just fine, but you can certainly use more.  16GB is simply not overkill anymore, if anything, it’s just enough.

Edit: There are some Team Force kits for $104. If you drop back to 3200MHz, there are some kits for $90-ish.
