Marcus Kemp

so I just got off deployment and I got my laptop then I plugged in my old ssd and I wasn't able to type on the keyboard so I got an external keyboard and logged in. I could still use the special keys on the laptop and change brightness I just couldn't type anything.

Check Device Manager. You might have a broken driver.

Is the laptop equipped with a touch screen?

Are you comfortable in opening up the bottom of your laptop? That's probably going to be the next step... You may need to replace the keyboard itself. If the laptop isn't too old, it might even just be easier to contact the manufacturer's support, and see if it's a common problem, and how much it would cost to have it diagnosed and repaired by them.
