[SOLVED] Arch Linux VM insists on using hardware virtualization

Hey, so I'm trying to start an Arch Linux VM on VirtualBox 6.1.16, but the problem is that it's trying to use hardware virtualization while I don't have it enabled, so I can't save my altered settings (so I can't point the virtual drive to the Arch .iso).

Any thoughts on this issue?

just deselect hardware virtualization under "processor"

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

that's it, but it appears it's already disabled... now that I think about it Arch is only 64 bit so you do need hardware virtualization enabled. go in your bios and enable it (if your cpu supports it) otherwise you'll have to try a different distribution. There's an unofficial 32 bit port of Arch.

VirtualBox only gave me the 32 bit version as an option even though I'm running a 64 bit CPU & OS. And also there's the problem that idrk where the hardware virtualisation option is in my BIOS (It's MSI touch BIOS I THINK???)

it should be called "svm mode" or "amd-v" or something like that in the BIOS
