Im a little new to ssd, does my setup support nvme ssd?

I don't know too much about nvme ssd's but I have 2 m.2 ssd's in my motherboard, are they nvme? I realize i might sound like a moron in this situation.

here is a screenshot of my pc build, sadly i dont have the 3080 yet :(

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Yes your Motherboard supports Nvme drives, but it's only connected via a PCIe 3.0 link. The drives you want to buy are more expensive PCIe 4.0 drives, that will only run at the slower 3.0 speed of your Motherboard. It works, but it's pretty wasteful to buy 4.0 drives for a 3.0 Motherboard.

If they will run like nvme in my motherboard. I heard that even if they are nvme they will work in regular m.2 slots. I don't know much about this topic.

Why you have gen4 ssd when the board only support gen3.

It will work tho, but the price is very expensive. such a waste.

NVMe is a transfer protocol, it's like SATA. a SATA M.2 drive will have two notches

Only Ryzen support gen4. Intel will support it on 11th gen rocket lake cpu on next year.

there are some b+m drives that  are pcie x2, so you have to look at spec sheets to know.

Also, check the model of those Gigabyte SSDs. They have a SKU with no heat sync & another with the 70g copper heat sync which is more expensive.

If you're planning to use the built-in heat sync on your motherboard, there's no point in paying for a bunch of extra copper.
