Posted October 27, 2020 So I am moving to AMD from my 7700k Now I have got the motherboard Asus Strix B550i (it was on offer so bought it early) hopefully will get the 5600x or 5800x on launch The board will need a BIOS update to support then new Ryzen CPU. The Asus board has a BIOS flashback port/tool so would I be able to use this with the NEW ryzen CPU as it bypasses the bios/OS? or would I need to have an older chip first? Posted October 28, 2020 the only time that you may need to follow extra steps is if you want to run the cpu on a b450 board, which doesnt fully support the cpu, but does have some kind of or is planned to have some kind of beta/semi support
 Don't even need RAM, GPU, CPU, etc, etc, when using the USB BIOS Flashback feature to update the BIOS.
