144hz monitor vs 1ms reponse

Hi i'm new here i was just wondering

 

I am wanting to buy a 144hz monitor with 1ms response time

but i know 144hz monitors are limited to 144fps which is about 7ms between frames so how does that work with 1ms  and where does that bring advantages

to gaming performances and how much is that advantage

my 240hz panel have "1ms" TN panel, and i can see smearing behind moving objects

so it also depends on pixel overdrive settings, and many other factors.

It's just for marketing purpose. The lower is better but realistically no monitor is close to it. Always check reviews.

It's to do with the crystal needing time to switch from one state to the next, say from fully off to half on it takes ~2ms to switch

So manufacturer can tune the voltage to speed it up or slow it down

If too much voltage is supplied you get inverse ghosting where the pixel will actually overshoot the target before it returns

If too little, you get slow pixels.

As long as the display responce time is fast enough for 100% of transitions consistenly then you wont really feel the difference between 7 miloseconds and 1 milosecond. But most 144 hertz monitors today have around 5-4 ML of response time anyway
