What do you mean by this? Replace the internal display of the laptop, or use an external display?

If you mean internal display, no, from my experience with laptops, they usually have some propriatary conector. If you are talking about external, you can do any display, though you might need a adaptor.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

If you mean grabbing a dell xps pannel and trying to get it to work on a hpx360, then no, majority of panels have proprietary connectors and you're gonna need some soldering if you want to get around that.

CPU: Intel core i7-8086K Case: CORSAIR Crystal 570X RGB CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H150i PRO RGB Storage: Samsung 980 Pro - 2TB NVMe SSD PSU: EVGA 1000 GQ, 80+ GOLD 1000W, Semi Modular GPU: MSI Radeon RX 580 GAMING X 8G RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 64GB (4 x 16GB) DDR4 3200mhz Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E Gaming

You cannot replace the internal display of a laptop with any old display you find on the internet. It would need to be compatible with the laptop you have.

If you actually take apart the screen you will find that it will have a proprietary display connector.

So in answer to your question, you need X screen for X laptop

System

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600

Case: Phanteks eclipse P400A

Motherboard: MSI B550 Gaming Carbon WiFi

GPU: MSI RTX 3060 TI Gaming X Trio

RAM: 16GB XPG D60G CL16 3200MHZ

PSU: Sharkoon SilentStorm Cool Zero 650W

Storage: Crucial P2 1TB

There's not like an adaptor for that?

It would need to be the same size and have the same connector on the back.

So there's not any possible way of grabbing a juicy $70 120hz laptop screen and make it work as if it is my internal display?

Do some googling.

If your model never had a 120hz option, then it's probably going to be a hard no. And if it did, as the rest of the posters already said, it must be compatible with your laptop.

Then rip me, normal 120hz are expensive as balls

Yeah there's an expensive adapter that needs soldering,

I really dont recommend you to try and replace your laptop screen on your own, its not a good idea but theoreticly you would need to find a compatible screen
