Budget (including currency): 6500$ USD <- was 4800$ but because of price changes I went all out

Country: GCC (please consider shipping)

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I play alot of offline games and online games of different caliber, I love Witcher , Skyrim, fallout, mass effect, horizon zero down...  I guess you got the Idea

Details

First of all, I built my fair share of PC's and I am collecting Ideas for my dream build so help me it you can.

Color preference ( Gray ), not a big RGB fan I will put dim white light inside only.

***CPU***
AMD R9 5950X
-- waiting for it to be in stores

I settled to buy

AMD R9 5950X

***Motherboard***
GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master
--its the only x570 with 3 NVME SSD's ( this is important to me ) and its good looks, I would love a ROG but they don't have 3 nvme's, but it is up to discussion.

I settled to buy

GIGABYTE X570 AORUS Master

***GPU***
-- not decided but most likely a 3090, but I will pray for a miracle from AMD on the 28th of October

I settled to buy

Palit GeForce RTX 3090 GameRock OC 24GB

***Ram***
Patriot Viper Steel Series DDR4 32GB (4 x 8GB) 4400MHz
-- change my mind with good options speed is important to me and gray color too.

I settled to buy

G.SKILL Trident Z Royal Series 64GB (4 x 16GB) 3600Mhz

***HHD***
2 x Western Digital 6TB Ultrastar
-- change my mind with good options size and speed is important to me.

I settled to buy

2 x Western Digital 6TB WD Gold Enterprise Class

***CPU Cooler***
-- I really need your help with this one I am lost between
1- Noctua NH-D15 blackout version
2- EK-AIO 360 D-RGB

I am not a big fan of water cooling and I am very much afraid of water leaks especially in a system like this ( happened to one of my friends and lost a 2080Ti because of a leak)
but I heard that the EK-AIO 360 D-RGB is a very good option and that it's top quality.
Now my air cooling mind is afraid of water cooling even in a closed-loop but I am buying a 5950x and most likely it's not going to be cold.
( is there a good gray CPU air cooler? )

I settled to buy

EK 360mm AIO D-RGB All-in-One

***Monitors***
-- I am at a loss here, I want to go for 2 x 27" monitors
monitors should have the following
IPS Panel
144Hz +
10-bit color range
G-Sync / FreeSync Pro ( depends on the GPU I will buy )

I did not decide yet shall I go 4k or 1440P?
shall I buy a very extreme main monitor and a usual monitor as a secondary?
I am thinking of Samsung G7 it's a VA does it have a bad Color Quality or should I stick with IPS only? that 240Hz looks very good and appealing.

I am a developer so besides gaming 2 monitors are perfect.

I settled to buy
Main monitor : LG 27GN950-B

Secondary monitor : AOC U2790VQ 27" 4K

***Case***
Phanteks evolve x Gray ( I loved this case and I bought it already)

I will fill all the case with fans and my options are between:
1- Noctua NF-P12 redux-1700
2- Corsair ML140
3- Lianlii uni fans (I would love this it will make cable management much easier but I can't find it anywhere )

what is better? I prefer it if the fans are white lit.

I settled to buy

EK-Vardar EVO 120ER RGB x 6

***PSU***
Thermaltake Toughpower DPS G RGB 1500W Digital 80+ Titanium (got it as a gift)

I will go for custom cables ( gray too ), most likely from cable modes.

please provide options from
Amazon ( sold by Amazon)
Newegg (Sold by Newegg)
B&H

because they have direct shipping options to GCC countries.

My current PC (2014) I will give this PC to my little sister so I will not use  its parts but I am taking the storage and I will leave her one 500gb nvme only )
CPU: i7- 4790k

I'll jump in on the cooler options, the temperature difference between a 360rad and the d15 is very slight, if you are worried about the water (not actually water in the loop it's alcohol/glycol mixture) go for the air cooler, it has more than enough cooling potential even if you overclock the 5950x

I have seen this one too from Jaystwocents, but please check this

its shows 10 degree change in temperature isn't that major ? , or I am over looking it ?

The 7.5deg difference at maximum load shows the maximum difference you could see if you were running it during an overnight render or doing something like folding@home

The more important number is the delta temperature between ambient and the cpu temp, that combined with your ambient temp will give you a rough estimate of what temp the cpu will run in your climate. (there's other factors but it will end up within a few degrees)

If the cooler can keep it under 90c it's 'good enough' but if it's anywhere in the 50C's it's more than enough.

Do not settle on motherboard or memory until the cpu is selected. Do not settle on a cpu until it's actually available.

Early November is probably too soon for next gen AMD. General availability is not likely before the end of November. It also takes a few weeks before any issues might appear.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

if you are certain on motherboard/ram/HDDs there's nothing wrong with picking those up soon. it's unlikely, this close to black friday, that many really good deals will come out between now and then but you never know. If it was me I'd wait and check a few sites for deals until the last day before I had to order them.

now that i'm on my desktop and not mobile typing I can jump into a few other questions.

Samsung G7 it's a VA does it have a bad Color Quality

it has fantastic colour quality, QLED has made colour accuracy very simple for it where VA panels were unable to achieve the contrast and brightness needed to hit all the colour points the new backlight tech has made it perfect.

1440 high refresh, based on your games mentioned is not the "best" option for the highly visual games like horizon zero and the witcher series or (heavily modded) skyrim. a 4k display would be better for visuals and tend to have options with 1000nit for maximum HDR.

However the Samsung G7 will absolutely look gorgeous for these games while keeping refresh rates higher for smoother motion, if the budget works for 2 samsungs it nice to match but it's not like you'll be playing spanned across both so an ultrawide or even a pair of other monitors with a main bada$$ one would give you more bang for the buck.

to the noctuas, gives you a white ring light, just have to get some molex connectors for 10$ and pin the wires directly into them or 12V RGB header plugs to be controlled straight from the board.

if you aren't comfortable with that, the Corsairs are your next best option.

I see, because AMD somehow confirmed that 5950X will work on X570 motherboards so I thought the gigabyte X570 master is not a bad option and its handling the 3950X with no issues so why not.

the only thing I am not sure about is ram speed, I want to be sure about what's the sweet spot ram speed for 5950X.

I see your point and i agree with it now

first of all thanks for your detailed answer

I will wait till black friday and check what is going to be on sale. and I will buy storage devices

regarding monitors, I will buy them the same day I will buy the GPU but I am trying to create a short list here

1440P
Asus VG27AQL1A (1440P, 170hz, IPS)
ViewSonic ELITE XG270QG (1440p, 240hz ,VA)
Gigabyte 27" AORUS FI27Q-P (1440P, 165hz , IPS)
LG UltraGear 27GL850-B (1440P, 144hz ,IPS)

4K
LG 27GN950-B (4K , 144hz, IPS)
XG27UQ (4K , 144hz, IPS)

I will not play with both monitor on most likely one for gaming and second for discord youtube or when I am codding one for my server and second for coding

regarding fans
I will look in the option given I dont want my PC to be very bright little bit of white light is ok

To the short list as well, it can divide your screen virtually for gaming and having everything else up at the same time when you want multiple monitors but still gives you all the features of the other ones.

Same size a 2x27in for the same price but gets you into 1000nit and colour accuracy

I feel your pain, I'm going through the same experience myself and the availability situation on GPU/CPUs is absurd!!

I just posted the build I've committed to here.

I went for the Asus Strix x570-E board (only 2xm2 slots) as I'll have other PCI-E slots available that I can just throw a M2 extender card into if I want to add another, but all my current SSDs are 2.5" Satas so I needed the 8 Sata slots for the drives I currently run.  As for 4k vs 1440, I've always wanted a 4k monitor.  This way I can trouble shoot issues that I provide advice on to those that have 4k monitors. I only wish I could have afforded one that had a higher refresh rate (another upgrade later I guess).

Hello ptejack,

I see we are going through the same process, good luck with that.

the motherboard choice for me was easy because of personal preference of the gigabyte Auros masteand situational state that I am in right now ( I have 2 nvme gen 3 ssds but I want to buy gen 4 so that's why I need 3 slots), the whole reasoning is not logical but it works for me !

regarding monitor and GPU well I though my option is going to be easy with the 3090 but AMD blew me away with that 6900xt now my whole thought process is a mess.
and I cant buy monitor if I did not decide on the gpu so both are on pause, and I am waiting for benchmarks on the 6900 for hardware unboxed and gaming nexus to decide.

Hope your parts ordering process is smooth and all goes well ...  man good luck.

Thanks, the Computer store I'm working with is great and have all the parts except the CPU and the PSU, so gawd only knows when I'll get this thing up and running. As for the GPU, well I'm in the same boat as you right now and waiting the BMs on the 6900xt.  I'd consider the 3090 but the price point is outside what I'm willing to pay here in Canada, however, if the 6900xt runs the way I expect it will, price point and power... it will be a no brainer over a 3080 and the machine will be totally Red.

Store shelf release date isn't until December for the 6900, so one only hopes that AMD (and their partners) will make sure selves are filled by then and we don't go through the same fiasco that Nvida has put us through (talk about lost sales!!) I'm not worried about the GPU though, until the cards become available, I can always pull the RX580 out of my old machine and use that as a filler until they're available and properly reviewed.

Good luck with your build.  I think you're going to have a sweet machine when done.

One other thing on cooling, the Store SalesRep I talked to told me that a Noctua air cooler would serve the 5950x quite well, however he didn't specify which model.  I don't think a NH-D9D would do the job, but maybe the NH-D14 and definitely the D15 would.
