My computer isn't displaying anything.

It's definitely on. It makes sounds sometimes (presumably emails and Microsoft News) and the (tiny amount of) RGB is on. The fans are on, and the fans even ramp up when I type in my passcode after shutting it down/opening it back up again.

The monitor works. The cable connecting the monitor works. The cable is fully plugged in.

Specc:

            RAM: 16GB DDR4-3200 CL-16

            CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 @ 3.6GHz

            SSD: 256GB

GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 470 4GB

            OS: Windows 10

            PSU: Corsair CV450

If this means anything, the fail of a component was sudden. I was web browsing and suddenly I didn't get any display and the machine was off.

Thanks!

There wasn't anything on boot.

There's only one DVI port. I have an old enough monitor that I only have DVI and VGA, but the GPU only has DVI. Not really a possibility.

mining card? well goodluck, if you can't see anything on boot, i think the port is broken.

does the gpu have a hdmi or dp port? you could get a adaptor for ~5$

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

The fact that you don't see anything during boot suggests a hardware issue. Resetting CMOS likely won't do anything but I've seen weirder fixes so who knows, it's an option.

If you can tell the system is booting fine but that there's just no display output I would try putting the GPU in another PCI_e slot or connecting the GPU to a different computer entirely and see what happens. If it works in either situation it could be as simple as it needed to be reseated in it's slot. Usually unprovoked this doesn't happen but if you bumped the chassis in any way recently it's a possibility.

If the GPU doesn't provide output in either test then the GPU is effectively dead. Unless you happen to be good at component level repair and have access to the components soldered to the PCB.

I don't have another computer to put it in and it's impossible to put the GPU in another slot (thanks a lot mATX).

Strip it down to mobo, processor, memory, GPU and nothing but power and the monitor plugged in.

No keyboard or mouse, no internal cards or USB devices plugged in.

Can you get video during post?

(are you sure your monitor is coming on to display video, does the monitor have a menu that you can bring up to ensure its producing video?)

If you still cant get video, remove the memory AND GPU, does it not give a memory post code?

If not, reseat your CPU and test again, still no post code? Bad mobo or proc.

If you get post codes of some kind with the memory out, then put a single stick back in along with the GPU. Do you now  get video?

If so, swap memory stick to see if the problem reoccurs with other memory sticks.

If you put the memory and GPU back in and get no post codes swap another stick of ram. If still no go try memory and no GPU to see if it posts.

How do you know this?

Lights and fans indicate power is present, not functionality.

And if its not the computer, you seem confident that its turning on and ok by your words.

Then that only leaves the monitor or monitor cable.

Otherwise explain to us how you know its on and functioning considering you cant see anything on the monitor?

I'm not saying you are not correct, but i've been 100% sure no way i'm wrong before, only to find out i assumed something incorrectly.

Sound effects and higher fan speeds after typing in password after booting up. I can interact with the computer, just I can't see what I am interacting with.
