Poor UX - Search filter window closes for no reason

pythonmegapixel

Browser, version and OS: Firefox 81, Windows 10 2004

What happened? Clicking on a search filter (e.g. "search content titles only") causes the settings window to close and focus to be taken away from the search box, preventing me from typing.

What did you expect to happen? The focus remains in the search box (so I can continue typing) and the window stays open (so I can select more filters)

Note: the window I mean is this:

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

Huh... for me it's intermittent. Sometimes that drop down menu stays and sometimes it disappears as you've said.

Glad it's fixed.

That aside, whenever ANYONE says something happens/happened for no reason, they're always wrong.  There's always a reason.  It may be a stupid reason, or it may be a reason that you aren't aware of...but there's always a reason.
