RTX 3070 in a Mini-ITX case?

Waifu4Life
Go to solution Solved by SkilledRebuilds,

Optimumtech^ has plenty of content on SFF/Mini-ITX

It's likely feasible with plenty of research, but undervolting is the best bet for any GPU in such situations. (85-95% Performance, LowNoise, LowTemps)

Do you think there will be potential heating issues if I put an RTX 3070 in my Cooler Master Elite 130 Mini-ITX case?

Fixable how?

Introducing more airflow if possible, changing the fan curve, changing power settings

Your case really isn't that small, even if it's labeled as an ITX case; it just fits ITX boards.

You can fit the 3070 easily. You could fit the 3090. There's loads of room.

Not sure about this specifically because it's a 3 slot card. The CM Elite 130 has 2 slots and a bit of room for maybe 2.5 slot cards.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Well that case is much smaller. Mine also has more airflow with more fans and my the GPU is mounted on the side, taking in air from the outside directly, I should be good.

Cheers

  • 4 weeks later...

It fits. But you have to get Zotac RTX 3070. Other models will not fit.

Got it today, here are some photos:

I got a reply from Cooler Master since then:

Quote

Hello,

The VGA card length for Elite 130 is 13.5 inches, and the length for GeForce RTX 3070 is 9.5 inches, so the case should have enough room for RTX 3070.

CM-Support

Looks like anything under 13 inches should fit according to them.

Yeah, to clarify - I don't think the length is the problem, it's the width (thickness of the card). Zotac is 1.6 inches, while somethings like ROG Strix is 2.27 inches. You just won't be able to close this specific case.

To be fair, ROG cards tend to be huge.
