It will hurt it, but depending on how you paint them it will be the differ in how much of a change it will be

GT's are going to be out of buissness soon, their having new ones but not nearly as good as their GT's.

Noctua is good and i've painted them before still great performance.

So i want to swap out my stock h100i with some noctua nf-f12's,

and i really don't like the color so i want to paint them,

could this somehow hurt their performance?

Yes, as it will destroy the balance. They'll get noisy.

My advise is put the noctuas on the other side of the RAD, so you won't see them.

You could try and die them. However Noctuas suck. Get Scythe GT's or Swiftech Helixs

What have you been driniking`?

Water because my town is on boil water advisory.... Seriously if you have ever had both fans side by side you would know. As well as there being a lot of tests out there.

I've got Corsair fans, Xigmatek Fans, Fractal Fans, Cooler Master fans, Be Quiets Silent Wings, Scynthe GT's, and Phobya G.Slient layout around here. Oh and some Spectre Pros. They all are really crappy and loud when compared to Noctuas. Using NFF12 and NFLX14 in my rig.

Even a simple test done by @Lays shows the GT superiority

Who runs his Noctuas at 1500 RPM O.o Mine are somewhere inbetween 700 and 1000rpm depening on CPU / GPU temp and are inaudible from 130cm away where I sit [6x NFF12 1x NFp14 flx]. Noctuas are great at undervolting and silent operation. If you ramp them up to 1500rpm you're doing it wrong. And you should consider your cooling solution if that kind of rpm is needed.

The point is in Lays video the Noctuas at minimal RPM are as loud as GTs that are maxed.

Not sure how he did that, but the GTs in my Fractal Define Mini, are audible through the noise Isolation and so on while the noctuas that are closer to me [50cm] are close to inaudible in a fairly open Xigmatek Elysium.

Why would you buy a fan that's only semi quiet at one set RPM, instead of it's full range? :/

Because with a 360x80 + 360x60mm rad for a 2500k and a 290x there is no need to have them run at 1500 rpm ^^

The GTs and the Noctuas are running both somewhere inbetween 700-1000RPM and the GTs are only 3 and further away from where I sit and are louder than the 7 noctuas that are closer to me [~50cm]

That may be in your case true, but I need my fans to be able to go to about ~8-10v when gaming, otherwise my CPU gets a bit warm, ~65-70ish if I leave them at 3-5v like I usually do.  Then the rads get pretty warm to the touch and I can hear my case "expanding" so to speak, makes me nervous lol

And for my liking, noctuas at that RPM are just to loud :/

They are not the most quiet fans at high RPM, but that's not really what they're shooting for ^^'

Mine are between 0 and ~60%

I don't really need them at 60%, i could probably make do at 40-50% up to 100% load but that's automatic, and only when i'm playing games so i dont really hear them. And then my rig is totally silent when doing anything else.

If you're using speeds between 300-700 its all about motor or bearing noise because air noise is nonexistent there. Ive tried tons of fans out such as Corsair SP's/SPl's/AF's/nzxt ones/coolermaster/arctic etc they all disappointed me except Noctua & Be Quiet. Also you dont wanna use them in push pull, makes like an electrical whine noise (google nh-u14s video push vs pushpull).
