is this good enough for 4K?

Doubt it can play AAA titles at 4K/144Hz.

Also I advice you to wait for ryzen 5000 it's not long before it's out.

 

By just not getting a second gaming monitor and just getting a regular cheaper 27 inch monitor a lot of parts of this build could be upgraded for better stuff. That and a node 304 isn't that small of a case might as well just get a small micro atx case and end up with higher end cooling and a much better motherboard for about the same price.

Is there a reason for the A series board vs a B550/X570 though? That board has a PCIe 3.0 x16 slot, I don't see much reason to skip PCIe 4.0 on a platform that supports it. $25 more gets you the same board but in the B550 variant with a PCIe 4.0 slot. Also a 256Mb BIOS chip vs 128Mb on the A520 (larger BIOS chip = better, they can add more stuff in over time without having to cut features/specific CPU support), and a PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slot vs a 3.0 (PCIe 4.0 SSDs aren't super practical for most users, but again there's little reason to not have that option considering your CPU supports it).

TLDR? new motherboard and what else i coulda sworn the 3080 had dlss support also i cant buy anything above 3000$ so a 3090 is out of the question for me unless the prices of literally everything goes down by 15 to 20%

then what the fuck is the point of the 3080? i swear i heard LTT say that 4K gaming is now its here right?  also the dual monitor is for streaming

To be a 4k 60 no settings held back card not a 4k 144 high settings card. It can totally do that in lighter games but not in more heavy games.

everything from an RTX 2060 on up supports DLSS, just the vast majority of games have not implemented it.

4K gaming meaning 4K60. Has been doable for a while if you dropped settings, but previous cards like the 1080 Ti and 2080 Ti still couldn't max out games at 4K and still hit the 60fps min target most PCMR gamers are pushing for. 3080 pretty consistently pushes 60fps or above in every title I've seen thrown at it. 

4K 144Hz is an entirely different beast, and I don't think you're realizing what an absolutely monstrous res/refresh rate that is and how hard it is to push.

so 4K 60Hz monitor then? so i can cut down the price a lot or....possibly have one monitor and have a 3090...will a 3090 support 4k 144Hz or is it still to heavy of a load?

The 3090 is about 15% faster than a 3080, so it gets you closer, but not by that much. And it's twice the price of a 3080. 

 

Given that monitors last a gooood few years at least (I have a display from 14 years ago that's still kicking just fine), if you heart is set on 4K144, just get one (it's cheaper in the long run than buying a 4K60 panel now, and then a 4K144 panel anyways in the next couple years). GPUs will eventually be able to push that, and even at 75-100fps it's noticeably smoother than 60. I would make sure to get a G-Sync/Nvidia compatible FreeSync monitor though. 

As for 3080 vs 3090, it's mostly budget deciding that. If you can comfortably afford to buy a 3090 purely because it's the best, then go for it. Otherwise the 3080 is a much better value (there's rumors of a 3080 20GB model as well, if you run any really really VRAM hungry stuff).

so future proof it? im looking for performance now not later... i will be able to afford something like that later but not RN so should i just get a upgradable PC now? so what should i get? 10900k with a 1660?

skip to the 14:00 mark and see how the 3080 gets up to 170fps at 4k doom eternal ultra nightmare i somehow think the 3080 is ready for 4k gaming (with some tweaks) also they were using a 3900XT not a 10900K wouldn't a better CPU for gaming bring me closer to 144Hz gaming at 4K?

As said above... SOME games can hit 144Hz at 4k. Most cannot.  That is what it means when we say... no.

^^^^ This. DOOM and DOOM Eternal are well known for running like absolute b u t t e r on anything that plays nice with Vulkan (so pretty much all AMD GPUs, and Turing and Ampere from Nvidia). They're exceptions to the rule, most games will not run that well at 4K.
