How to get my laptop using my nvidia GeForce gtx 950m instead of intel internal graphics

Hi I am trying to get my graphics over to nvidia one but it never seems to be doing anything ? Maybe I’m missing something obvious?

If your integrated videocard is only used 41% of its full capacity, you don't need your more power hungry Nvidia videocard to power on.

 

But if you still want it to turn on regardless: Nvidia Conrol panel > Manage 3D Settings > Sett Graphics Processor from auto to your dedicated videocard

I have tried that but it doesn’t seem to switch over ? Any ideas?

In that same control panel, go to Program Settings, choose the program and set "Preferred graphics processor" to Nvidia.

What you can do is go to the Nvidia control pannel and find that application under 3d settings. Manually set the GPU to that program and it should switch over
