Issue with GTX 970. VGA LED...

Hi all,

 

Currently having issue with GTX 970 on:

MSI B450M Mortar Max

Ryzen 5 2600x

2x8gb Ballistix 2666mhz

PSU GP-650

System not posting up. VGA led shows issue.

Now I placed RTX 2070 into same system, everything working fine. 

Maybe someone has any ideas how to fix this issue?

 

P.S. GTX 970 working fine on my other system.

Try DDUing it and reinstaling the driver? If that doesn't work idk.

 

Can your power supply handle it? Its possible that it just cant handle the card...

That won't make a difference if the system won't POST.

how many watts is ur psu rated for? the 970 is a 300w card on top of cpu and anthing else that can easily overwhelm 400w PSU's

Is there another PCIe slot in your mobo you can test it (the GTX 970 that is) with?

P.s.s. I've tried same PSU with Msi a320, same GTX 970, same Ram and Ryzen 7 3700x, everything worked fine...

Maybe your motherboard just decided to end its friendship with your 970 and decided it wanted a new one...

There is, but will be challenging due GPU size.. can't properly install, because of power and reset plugs

If the 2070 works as your system stands, the the BIOS won't make a difference on the older GFX card

Well... Then I have no idea what to do. MSI support proved once that they're useless...

Vendors never are of help.

And short of spending money on a PCIe extension cable to test the other PCIe slot, I think I"m out of ideas as well, but others may chime in here with some better ideas than I have
