Cheap as Desk Build... anyone could do it

danBrown

ive seen a few posts over the months of members desk builds. This is my desk.. it cost me a total of $43.50, so I thought I would post it up cause im procrastinating from study and realllllly bored.

First step... you find yourself some supports.. my choices... $10 file cabnet, and $5 (gumtree) bed side table.

Then you get something to level the two out... i managed to get my hand on some garden pavers... it didn't quite level out perfectly.. so i got some Styrofoam from the garbage... and some dish towels.

Then you find something to stop the desk from rocking back and forth... i found some pine timber on the side of the road... cut it to length.. works like a charm..

And for the actual desk... you get yourself a ..... door... yes... a door.. you can take it off your bedroom door if you want... but i chose to get a new one from bunnings.. considering they are only $20... then you build put it on top and you are all set :)

OPTIONAL... you can build a hutch if you want.. a bit of pine and a couple of square brackets... a few screws and you are all set.

Hope you enjoyed this really simple desk setup :)

That is a really decent idea. And its true, anyone could do it. I'm sure most people has things like that laying around their basement, or knows someone that has that stuff and willing to give it to you.

Thanks for sharing!!

Haha ouch. Trade offs for the natural beauty ;)

Mind you your minimum wage is twice what most places are so...it's all relative.
