Well it used to be

PSU

CPU

GPU

Now that we have put PSU on the bottom of the case, is it fair to affine that we will rearrange the other parts? Like

GPU

CPU

PSU

The reason is that new GPUs output way more heat (more watts usually means more) than cpu, so as the hour air goes above, the GPU will put heat on CPU, change their position will change that.

Well I don't believe it's a major problem, just troubles me

Intel tried to introduce an upside down ATX standard in the mid 2000s, and it never really caught on.

High-end GPU power consumption is actually a lot lower than it used to be when you consider that SLI/Crossfire was a must on past systems, especially with behemoth dual-GPU cards like the HD 7990.

Psu was at up top because people used it as an exhaust

Now it's circling its own air so it can be tucked under

As for your GPU airflow concern, nah

Unless your CPU is literally very near the limit, you shouldn't worry too much about it

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Yeah I saw the video of jaytwocents, but I used to run stock coolers for years, he had one of the most powerful aio (dark rock 4 pro). If you run on Intel stock, you know you are always on the top temperatures

hmm... honestly, instead of moving the GPU up, why not take off some PCIE covers and put a fan there as exhaust 🤔

that way the hot air from GPU gets pulled out before it has a chance of going up into the CPU's area

only if your GPU isnt FE/blower, the FE handles its airflow pretty well from GN's schlieren video

albeit at the cost of higher CPU temps

They actually made a fan that you installed in the slot below your video card, in the late 90s. It screwed into an expansion slot, and used a molex power connector rather than plugging in to the motherboard. They were super loud. I can’t remember the name of the company that sold them, though.

Ha! I found it:

yeah i know of it, but those are bad, and may even impede on the GPU's airflow

im talking more of a rear exhaust fan, but at PCIE slots

doesn't block the GPU's fan, and succ the hottest air out since it's at rear most of the GPU, where the fresh air from the front of the casing gets heated up the most
