Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

Too vague. No budget or location, so people could recommend a $10 SM57 knockoff or a $3000 Neumann U87.

Are you using it sitting at a desk plugged into a computer to record speech, with a videocamera through the 3.5mm mic port, or in an audio interface as part of a multi-mic setup?

When asking for recommendations, it helps to be specific.

You won't get much with that budget I would just wait and save more or get some used low end mic

Reminder⚠️

I'm just speaking from experience so what I say may not work 100%

Please try searching up the answer before you post here but I am always glad to help

Nah, you can get plenty with that budget.

From INDIA
around 25 bucks usd

If you're in India, your budget should be in that currency, otherwise people have to go convert it.

If you have an interface/mixer with phantom power, get this-

https://www.amazon.in/Generic-BM-800-Recording-Professional-Microphone/dp/B01FY20TVS/

If you don't, then get this. It'll plug into a mic port on a computer.

https://www.amazon.in/Shure-SV100-X-SHURE-SV100-MICROPHONE/dp/B07FZ6F9XX/

If you don't have a mic port or an interface, your only option is a USB condenser. This one's basically a TC-777.

https://www.amazon.in/UM-SF777-Condenser-Microphone-Recording-Podcasting/dp/B0834FC7BM/

There's also a 'USB BM800' which I suspect is just an NW-8000. It's okay, a little overpriced.

BM-800s used to be $10 in India, which was insane. They sound absurdly good for such cheap mics.

Oh, if this is to plug into a smartphone or a video camera, probably a Boya BYM1. Theoretically you can plug an SV100 (cheap SM57) into a camera but it's unwieldy as fuck.
