So the 11th gen intel processors for Desktop aren't out right?

This has to be THE most frustrating search i've performed in a while, all the articles google shows are for the 11th gen Tigerlake Laptop CPU not desktop (frustratingly impossible to get any answer as google thinks Laptops are desktops and shows me the laptop cpu results), is intel gonna skip this year or are they gonna wait for AMD's launch ?

no, they are not out for desktop or mobile there was a xe graphics showcase tho.

I believe they said it is delayed to late 2021/2022

Correct, there doesn't currently exist an 11th gen Intel desktop CPU series. It is a bit ambiguous what the next desktop generation will be.

 

Rocket Lake has been discussed in rumours but I'm not aware of anything official from Intel. If it happens, it'll be end of this year, or early next year, and is rumoured to feature a variation of new cores found in Tiger Lake but built on 14nm. New architecture, old process. This is expected to be compatible with the 10th gen Comet Lake mobos although if past behaviour is anything to go by, there'll still be a new chipset generation.

 

If Rocket Lake doesn't happen, Alder Lake is next on the lineup. This is on 10nm and has been stated by Intel as due second half of 2021 for both desktop and mobile.

that'd mean this would be the first year they skip a release given there's been a next gen i7s and what not every year, August 2019 being their last release.

11th gen processors are not on desktop yet. What I have seen is that they should be out sometime around late 2020 to early 2021. I did see someone mention a leak today that said they will have fewer cores than 10th gen (8 cores on the 11900k) but don’t know how true that is.

Without checking I don't think they held to a rigid annual release schedule in the past, and there have been gaps between releases longer than 12 months.

The last rumours I saw for Rocket Lake suggest they will be a 14nm implementation of the new cores, which are more complex than the Skylake based ones. It follows they will likely take more die area, and they might simply not be able to fit more than 8 cores in a consumer package. It is also possible it wont have all the new functionality found in Tiger Lake.
