I don't really feel the need to dislike videos when i don't like them, i just skip to the next one

but every youtube video has dislikes, even the gorgeous, splendid, majestic ones

I never dislike videos. I just ignore it.

 

Usually, it's users who doesn't even have a profile picture, doesn't upload any videos, or just hates everything.

Because for some, we try to find use in the dislike/like function. and this will epxlain what its useless and irrelevent for. And I came up with it being somewhat good for feedback.

 

When something is wrong I dislike to let the content creator know.

It is not in relation with if I like the video or not.

 

If they just want likes, then they are just like the facebook addicts.

-They can either go cry a river because of their internetz media addiction and keep the crap in their videos.

 

If they want feedback then good for them. If they explicitly ssya they only want likes...then k.

The youtube option can be disabled too.

 

Seeing as only a small portion of videos interest a person. If everyone were to dislike or like every video. There would be a big majoritary dislike.

And so, it sounds useless for viewers and uploaders to walk arround and mark what your like or not.

But it has its use in feedback. dislikes video is an indication that they should read feedback depending on the amount if they want to improve, because it's right there! Theres no hate involved. otherwise the option would be useless.

The rating buttons are there for a reason. If I dislike something I will thumbs down and state why I didn't like it. Constructive criticism. It's Youtube, not an orphanage.

I do when I think a video is bad. For example it is spreading misinformation, or has some serious flaw (awful audio or video), or tries to trick people into watching it (misleading title, misleading thumbnail etc).

I am indifferent towards most videos though, so I don't rate them at all.
