CPU+RAM setting up voltage

Go to solution Solved by AlwaysFSX,

Is it possible you actually bought a 1.5V kit by accident?

Hi, I have Gigabyte Z87X UD4H Motherboard on which I run i7 4770k CPU and 2x8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport low profile RAM which is advertised as 1.35V 1600MHz CL 9-9-9-24 on stock.

I overclocked my CPU to 4GHz and now I am testing its stability (1.111V so far it looks stable and will see if I can go lower than that). I can go further but I dont need it right now. I rather keep it nice and cool. But when I look into BIOS on my RAM voltage it say 1.5V. So I assume that my BIOS is autimaticly setting up voltages for 1.5V on RAM. However if I go and lower it to 1.35V Save it and Exit and then go to BIOS again it still say that it is on 1.5V. I tried enable XMP Profiles but no matter what I do looks like I cant go bellow 1.5V. Am I doing someting wrong or did I just forget something?

Hmmm... I may try reset CMOS but I decided to OC RAM after all. If I cant bring it under 1.5V at least I take advantage of it.

EDIT:

Wow, you were actualy right. These are 1.5V sticks. I just digged up package and looks like these are not the Low Profile I though I bough. However when I go to E-Shop in which I bough them and log into my account I can see that I ordered the right ones. So my retailer actually messed up. I just never noticed because they fit under my CPU Cooler without problem...

Anyway thanks for help. (Leaving by shaking my head and facepalming my self for not noticing sooner).
