[Satellite Map] What is this?

I see a lot of these patterns in forest areas around where I live. They look man made, because they're often in squared sections of land right next to other sections that look normal.

 

I can't tell what they are. Any ideas?

Agreed @TempestCatto. Looks like clearcut strips in a logging operation?

 

Edit: On a second look, it might be an orchard. If that was California, I would say avacado grove.
