Hello LTT I wanted to ask what is your current camera for daily recording?

they were using the RED 8k's weapon although now they have upgraded to the blackmagic mini pro ursa 12k.

wasted is a relative term because in 10 years 8K might be the equivalent of 480p today

And? You didnt have to pay for it, but we still get the benefit (crispy smooth video). So why would that be a problem?

100k is still VERY cheap for a camera. Guess what a camera costs they use in TV studio's. hahahaha.
Go complain there as you could bu a BIG luxury car for one of those. Maybe even a boat too. 😉

They didn't "waste" it, they made multiple times more than that in income thanks to them.  Plus they'll still be able to sell them for significant cash if the BM proves good enough (they don't have them yet AFAIK).

They have a wide mix.

The primaries are Red Weapon 8Ks and Canon C200s, but they have plenty of others as secondaries. They’ve bought 6 Blackmagic URSA 12Ks with intentions to replace the Reds, but given Blackmagics tendency for...issues...it’s unknown if that will actually happen of if they’ll just use them as backups or sell them on.

Wasted would imply that they overpaid and didn't get the quality and usage out of them. Plus that they might still be able to sell those used to some indie film maker. They are operating in area with film school and major TV productions.
