This is my current system:

GIGABYTE X470 AORUS GAMING 5 WIFI

AMD RYZEN 5 2600

G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 32GB

Thermaltake Toughpower Grand RGB 1200W

XFX RX 580

Fractal Design Define S2

SAMSUNG 970 EVO M.2 500GB

SAMSUNG 960 EVO M.2 250GB

All is good and dandy, BUT... Can I upgrade it, while downgrading it? The ONLY game I play is Minecraft. Plus very very light video editing.

I like the sense of "It's small, but it packs a punch"

I'm looking at this: https://www.newegg.com/asus-pn50-bbr030md/p/N82E16856110200

(I know, it's out of stock on newegg)

It has the latest 4000 CPU. It's laptop-grade CPU, I get that. It has several USB3-C (supports DP), several USB3 Gen1/2, HDMI, DP, up to 64GB DDR4 up to 3600,

I have yet to see anything that matches this. I love AMD, so don't suggest an Intel NUC...

Any of you hearing anything about these? Price doesn't matter rn, as I probably can't afford this until Christmas.

But why? Just keep your system? The one you linked is a web browsing machine.

I've seen reviews of it, and it really does pack a punch...

It's a lower end chip. It performs around the athlon 3000g level. Sure for minecraft it's alright. Light video editing won't be great on it. Again why sell your current system.

Is it in the way? Is there something wrong with it? Otherwise it just does not make sense to sell a good computer to get a lower end one. All that you will end up doing is needing an upgrade sooner with the lower end one whilst the one you have now would still be going for your needs.

There is no upgrade that will take place here. Are you just mesmerized by the size of the computer?

Why, do you want to get one of these small pc's?

I'm a minimalism guy. I find these tiny machines amazing. Only reason I got this big brother is because I wanted to go bold. But now, I'm realizing, do I really need all this?

OP please stop wasting your time by posting here. People here are always going to criticize your choices instead of actually answering questions and I don't get why anyone here wants to know what you will sell your old PC for if you are asking abou tthe new one.

Google the name of the CPU in the new PC and add Minecraft on google and then you'll get articles on how well it will run MC which is apparently all you care about. If that looks fine to you then go ahead.

Something I don't understand is why you are saying that you cannot afford it. I do not know how much it costs but if it has such bad hardware you should be able to buy it after selling your current good computer.

If those things are actually pricey and offer crappy hardware then maybe reconsider. If you want to be a minimalist it makes sense to avoid buying more and more garbage and instead stick to what you have and try to avoid buying more. Fact is that no matter what you buy you're going to need to upgrade in the future, maybe a year from now or even sooner. It makes no sense to spend money for the sake of satisfying your minimalism addiction.

If this was a new purchase it would make sense but if not you're just shooting yourself in the foot especially since you clearly cannot afford it.

My colleague is also like this and build a PC for the first time recently. He built it in the Node 202 which is ITX. I tried to explain to him that building ITX ups the price by several hundreds without adding performance but he just wanted a tiny PC and he also cries about wanting more money all the time and he often does not order food at restaurants just to save money. He could've had a mATX case which is maybe 2-3 bigger but he insisted on ITX and paid a lot of money that can just about run games on 1080p and all because he also had a craving for minimalism despite having more than enough space for a case that is just a little bigger. Your case is worse since you seem to be actually losing money on this so I suggest trying to work on your OCD and rewiring your brain.

Afford it? I'm on a set income. I get ~$980/mo through SSI/SSA. I pay $750 to my Mom for "rent", The rest of it, I use it to pay off my CC. From things I bought that month, food, things online, phone, spotify, etc. You know nothing about me, so get off my frikin back.

And if I sell this computer, I won't have anything else.

I actually bought ITX boards before. They ARE better than they used to be. They have a lot more packed into that tiny space. You're not losing money on it.

Just wondering, but did your friend ever say he hated/loved it? You're like everyone else. What you think is great isn't what other people NEED.

If you really want a smaller system thenu just get a small itx case and itx board. Make sure that your GPU and PSU fits in that case.

I will recommend Silverstone sg13b. It is a shoe box sized case which packs decent build quality and airflow. It usually goes around for about $50. The define S2 that you have is really an awesome case. You can easily sell it for around $70-80.

Get a new/used b450 itx board and sell ur existing Mobo and case. Transfer your pc parts in the new case and you are good to go.

Zen 2 mobile chips are still weaker than Zen+ desktop chips.
