Posted September 10, 2020 Hello everyone! I just completed my first build and everything is great and working fine. I have a WD Black 500GB NVMe SSD all by itself atm on the M.2 location and is my boot drive. It has windows 10 pro on it and a few STEAM games but I'd like to add a 2.5" SSD. My question is what SATA port do I use? I have a Gigabyte B450M DS3H and it has 3 SATA ports, which are, 0 1 2. According to the Toasty Bros youtube channel, the system will start on the port marked "0" but I am not using any of them as boot since I am using the M.2 as my boot. But there are 4 dedicated lanes to an m.2 drive from the cpu, so non should be disabled but again, you could check the manual. Posted September 10, 2020 You can set your Boot device in the BIOS, and your manual will tell you what (if any) SATA ports are disabled due to the NVMe being used (shared lanes).
