My M.2 NVMe SSD is my boot drive

Hello everyone! I just completed my first build and everything is great and working fine. I have a WD Black 500GB NVMe SSD all by itself atm on the M.2 location and is my boot drive. It has windows 10 pro on it and a few STEAM games but I'd like to add a 2.5" SSD. My question is what SATA port do I use? I have a Gigabyte B450M DS3H and it has 3 SATA ports, which are, 0 1 2. According to the Toasty Bros youtube channel, the system will start on the port marked "0" but I am not using any of them as boot since I am using the M.2 as my boot. So what SATA port can I use for an extra 2.5" SSD?

Hi! I believe you should still use the lowest number SATA port because it still should have faster speeds. Someone correct me if i'm wrong, I don't know a lot about SATA, I just thought that I would add what I think I know.

Look at the manual and check if any are disabled when an m.2 is installed.

But there are 4 dedicated lanes to an m.2 drive from the cpu, so non should be disabled but again, you could check the manual.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad.

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

You can set your Boot device in the BIOS, and your manual will tell you what (if any) SATA ports are disabled due to the NVMe being used (shared lanes).

There isn't a speed benefit for lower numbered SATA ports tho.
