Hi.

I just built a new pc but the GPU is giving no signal to the monitor.

The specs are:

Asus TUF B450 PLUS GAMING

Ryzen 5 3600X

Crucial ballistix gaming memory - 16GB (2x8) DDR4-3200

MSI geforce 2080 super (gaming trio)

Mars gaming MPB650

When I switch it on the fans work and the lights are on, but I can't see anything in the monitor. I'm using the HDMI (i cannot use the displayports by now).

I'd realy appreciate it if you guys could help me. Thank you!! :)

UPDATES:

- the hdmi is connected to the video card

- tried with an only ram stick.

- tried with and without the gpu (obviously nothing happened)

- cmod cleared and mobo battery removed for 5 minutes.

I don't know what else I can do :(

Is HDMI plugged in the video card port? If it is then I suppose you got a dead component, though you better seek someone more well versed with pc building and not take my word for it.

Yes, the HDMI is plugged in the video card port. The 2080 shouldn't be dead, it was working yesterday in another pc.

Plug your HDMI into the GPU, not the mobo. Clear CMOS (look into your mobo manual for that). Reseat your RAM. Try 1 RAM stick at a time. Check all internal cables and if everything is fully plugged in.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Ensure you're connected to the videocard and not the motherboard. Make sure the monitor is set to the correct input as well.

Check the motherboard box front if this graphic is present:

If you have another monitor to test the system out with - or even a TV - please do try, to be able to remove some variables from the test.

I'm connected to the videocard and my mobo has that same graphic. I've tried with a monitor and a tv. The only thing I didn't tried was the displayports because I do not have that cables yet. I can go and buy one but I am not sure that will fix it.

See if you can toggle the settings on the monitor using the buttons for HDMI or DP input assuming if it works. Could be a memory problem you can take out all the memory but one stick see if that helps.

Yes, I tried that but still not work :(
