Hi, My name's Ruben . . . I found this page through watching Linus Videos (as you'd expect really) . . . I love Battelfield (fanboy? possibly) and am toying with the idea of upgrading my PC for the released of BF4 . . . Currently playing BF3 on PS3 atm, so thought I'd join this forum to see what's what and all that. I don't use my PC for gaming (unless Simcity 4 counts) but it's got decent-ish specs, just needs a decent vid card really . . . Anyway pleased to meet you all.

I would go for AMD since BF4 is a gaming evolved title (AMD people will work with BF devs to make it work better with their cards) With the specs of your system I would recommend a 2GB 7850, its really cheap and its a great card.

Athlon X4 760K | MSI A88X-G43 | 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws 1333Mhz | MSI R7 260X 2GB | Corsair 300R | Corsair CX430 | 640GB HDD | Windows 7 64-bit

HP W2071d 20" 900p TN | Stock Dell K/B | Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000 + SteelSeries Qck Portal 2 Ed. | Grado SR80i + cheap 2.0 speakers

Well this is the one I was thinking of getting, I don't want to spend loads on a GPU just yet, as I probably have to get new mouse and keyboard. . . but I like the look of this.

That video card pretty old. For Battle Field 4 you need a upgrade

That is the exact video card that i have. I love it so far, i can run bf3 almost fully maxed out so i'm sure bf4 will be more of a challenge but i think you would be fine with it. And welcome to the forums.

Hello and welcome! I hope you enjoy the (now) working forum :). Anyway for that build I'd probably say that a GPU upgrade is all that is in order; you also mentioned running dual monitors, but I suppose every card has support for that at the moment. I can't really say how graphicaly intensive BF4 will be, however I know that it isn't going to be the most demanding thing on the planet. Go for something mid-range and you should have a good experience.

Oh right no, originally I got the first card listed the gt 520 so I could run dual screen, and have been for the passed year or so but very recently I've moved my PS3 over to by my comp as I will need a cap card soon (skate 3 website has gone down and making skate 3 montages will now require some sort of capture device/software. Before u could upload clips to their website and download them, someone told me a way to do this via PC so it was just easier to move it, plus got tired of sitting at the end of my bed to go on PS3) anyway so I'm using one monitor on PS3 and one for PC now so yes, I will be running a single 1080p or 720 pending on frame rate for PC Gaming.

Thanks for the advice guys :)

You will be able to do 720p maxed out at 60 FPS, or 1080p at lower settings over 60 FPS. Do you have a preference AMD or Nvidia?

I recommend these:

Nvidia: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-n650titf2gd5ocbe

or

AMD: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-fx785acnjc (better card)

Nvidia: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn660oc2gd

or

AMD: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-fx787acnfc (better card)

or

AMD: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-fx787acnfc (best card but a little bit more)
