How powerful of a processor do i need to run a 3080 without bottlenecking it too much?

Draysh

I currently have a 2600x.

I'm worried that it will bottleneck the 3080 at 1080p and i'm wondering if i should either go for a 1440p, a new processor or if it will work just fine.

Does anyone know how bad the bottleneck will be with a 2600x? (I know no one knows for sure, but maybe an estimate?)

Thanks in advance!

that depends entirely on the games you play and at which resolution you play therm as well as the refresh rate of your monitor.

if you play modern games as 1440p 144hz you are going to be GPU limited most of the time and wont have a huge difference in FPS.

when you go for something like CS GO in 1080p you will probably have a few hundred FPS and possibly a few more with a faster CPU.

Watch JayZTwoCents' video. I think he explains it better than I can and it's worth your time since you're worrying about it.
