is a 550w psu enough for a 3070

hi all, i'm planning to upgrade from a 1070 to a 3070, does my 550w psu (corsair tx550m) hold a 3070 and a i5 8600k (no overclock on both)?

Yes.

 

The recommendations by GPU manufacturers give a lot of headroom.

All u need to do at the maximum (peak) power draw at full utilization to get an idea of what u need.

 

CPU + GPU + 20%.

 

~130w + ~220w = 350 + 20% = 420

 

So yea 550W your fine.
