New Windows SSD losing storage?

Go to solution Solved by Cyracus,

right click windows icon. select drive management. the missing space should show up as black (unallocated). right click, new simple volume, follow the setup wizard.

So before this I had a 120BG SSD installed into my system as a boot drive. I also had 2x hard drives and a 500gb SSD.

I realised my pc was crashing on restarts often so I used Clear disc to check the health of my drives. I seen that My 120GB SSD was failing as outlined by Clear disc.

I used Macrium to clone my Boot SSD files onto my new, empty 500GB SSD.

After the clone i shut down my PC, unplugged the old 120GB drive and restarted the PC.

It booted fine, straight into Windows and all was good until i realised that my new 500GB ssd was only showing as 120GB?

How do I fix this?

Hm... To me it sounds like the program you made use of to perform this has shadowed your actual capacity based on the previous one from which it cloned the data.
I would recommend... reversing the process if possible, and formatting that faulty 120gb SSD with a fresh OS install.

Don't... completely take my word for it, though. These are simply guesses, I would wait on further replies but; keep this suggestion up your sleeve.

you can use a program like easus, or something similar, to extend the 120gb to include the unallocated space. imo, you should wipe it clean, and start fresh, always works out better in the long run.

this is quite common when cloning, one of the many issues.

Okay so I have located The spare space in Disk management.

Which of the following should I select?

Assign new Drive letter (assuming creating a sort of sub drive?

Mount in empty NTFS folder

No not assign a driver letter or drive path?

Righto done that. Its created a another "drive" slot separate from the Boot SSD. Is that correct?
