Should I be concerned about these scratches

Hello,

I was just trying to install my CPU into my first ever pc build and I must have hesitated or something as I maybe did something wrong and made two little scratches on the heat spreader. Is this ok

Doesn't matter.

Just grab a microfiber cloth (or paper towel) and some alcohol) or dampen the cloth/towel a tiny bit) and try to clean it off. Probably comes right off.

Surface scratches on the heatspreader won't affect anything. And honestly that's sort of what thermal compound is for.

It's fine, getting scratched and protecting the die is one of the ihs's functions. 

 

That said I've an athlon 64 here somewhere with a chipped die on three sides which works perfectly fine (well it did 15 years ago...), and another thats fucked with only a small scratch on the silicon 

Silent build - You know your pc is too loud when the deaf complain. Windows 98 gaming build, smells like beige
