you likely have a virus since something is committing 14gigs of ram in your pc.

correct, this is not your main issue right now but removing all the extra programs that your computer came with that you don't need will improve performance overall.

This could also be a memory leak.  Tracking down the offending program can be tedious though.

Try going through programs and features and uninstalling any programs you don't need or recognize, if you think it might be needed for another program then google what it is.

 

The overkill sure fire way would be to back up any critical files and reinstall windows. This will mean reinstalling all of your programs but will get rid of anything malicious.
