Wifi extender from Ethernet?

I'm running a Ethernet cable from my router to a back room that gets no wifi signal. I'm putting that cable into a switch for my wired devices (PC, consoles,) and I need wireless back there too for wireless devices. Would I use a repeater or extender or what, that would plug into my Ethernet cable to give me wireless back there? Can anyone recommend a product? Thanks

You can also use an old router if you have one laying around as an access point, or buy a cheaper one if you dont care about the signal quality for just that one room as much.

so would i set up an old router as a network then plug the wan port to the the other router through the lan cable? (sorry if i'm not using the correct terms or words)

So basically how it goes is. You turn off dhcp, give it a static ip and call it a day. You do this whilst connecting it direct with a cable to the computer (wifi can also work depends on the router) after doing all that you connect the cable that carries the internet to it's regular input port that you would use if connecting it straight to the isp's cable and then you are done.

No, let me explain better:

 

Most consumer routers are basically just wireless access points and routers rolled into one. A router, by itself, is just something that routes data to the modem among a variety of clients. A lot of industrial routers do not include wireless functionality, and are only wired. You can use old routers as only an access point by configuring them that way in their settings.
