Help with Korean 1440p Monitor

Viroth

I donit really know much about monitor technologies. But I'm looking to buy a 1440p one from eBay, pref a gloss. Does anyone have any hands on experience with these kind of monitors. I've not used a monitor brand other then Acer and Dell. How do these Korean brands compare? I have put some links to some I have seen that I may consider. Any of these shine out as obvious choice?

Also, how would the compatibility be with UK's 240V Main power?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'd get the pixel perfect one.

It'll be fine with the right adapter.

The Korean ones are bare bones. No stand adjustment, very minimal OSD, no adjustments in the OSD, the panels are rejects from the other brands.

There will be issues, that's why they're so cheap.

People have had luck, others have been burned. You might be lucky.

I got two of them.

1) Yamakasi Q270 2B OC edition, 400$, pixel perfect: no dead pixels till today, no backlight bleeding, overall perfect.

2) X-Star DP2710 (the third link you posted), pixel perfect, 230$ back then: no dead pixels till today, some backlight bleading in the corners, overall alright.

I'd recommend the X-Star, but only because I have positive experience with it. Dont know about the other 'brands'. Just make sure to always get the pixel perfect version, because they actually are.

btw both my monitors came with a universal 110-240V power brick, I just had to pick a standard power cord and everything worked fine.

According to the owners club, the Pixel perfect version has shown no evidence of being less likely to have dead pixels than the normal version. If people do have any dead pixels, very rarely will there be more than 3-4.

Minor backlight bleeding is pretty much constant with these monitors but that is hardly noticeable and doesn't matter. Many monitors bought have risk of dead pixels anyways. And just because the monitor was rejected, doesn't mean that you will have issues. Most Korean monitors bought have no dead pixels and minor back light bleeding is present in most brand monitors as well. Nothing really to be concerned about, as long as you are fine with the sub par build quality.

These korean monitors are a really good deal, colors and quality will look amazing. My recommendation is that you get non pixel perfect Xstar.

I literally just got my non pixel perfect x star like 20 minutes ago and I have only good news to report. It looks amazing and has no dead pixels. Hardly any backlight bleeding is visible and the size and colors are crazy. Also overclocks well.

If you get one you won't regret it

I'd be careful about this as I have seen other saying that the holes are not tapped properly etc so a vesa mount may not fit correctly.

Bought a QNIX QX2710 (Matte PerfectPixel) last week and I love it, AU$350 delivered in 4 days - can't complain.

Whacked a SilverStone LCD Arm onto it and its golden on my desk. Didn't even have to take the glass off (yes my desk has a glass covering over wooden top :/).
