Switching Drives

I'm planning on buying a new drive since my current one is filling up and probably moving all of my games to the slower drive based on what I have heard. Is this a good idea? Also, I will be likely buying a faster drive since my current build is 4 years old unless I buy a SATA or something. Is there a way to just move everything to the new drive and change it to the C: drive and then move my games back to the slower and older drive? or maybe a more elegant solution.

Depends on where your games have been purchased from? Some stores make moving things easier than others. 

 

Steam, sure no problem, move wherever  you want. Point it to the library folder and you'll be good. (With the caveat of save games aren't typically in these library folders, so if you wipe your OS drive, make sure you back things up or have cloud saves). 

 

Other game stores, well, better list what you are using to get input. Some make this unnecessarily difficult.

What mobo do you have on your PC, and what model of SSD you have now (also is it IT mbr or GPT).
