M.2 NVMe SSD and Motherboard bios config????

have a ROG strix b450f gaming motherboard and installed a patriot viper m.2 nvme gen3x4 ssd in the m.2.1 slot on motherboard. does anybody know what settings in my bios i need to configure to make it read and write faster?

you can't. 

but i would assume this drive will be fast enough for a casual user.

What? There are no such settings in bios.

the ssd will run as fast as it is advertised.

 

 

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

It should be set to x4 by default, maybe unless you've just got an obscene amount of other PCIe expansion cards installed.

If you install your ssd into the first m.2 slot nearest the cpu then it should already be running at full bandwidth. No configuration required

 

To control the mode it operates at enter bios Advanced tab > Onboard devices > M.2_1 should be set to Auto. Setting it to sata mode witll run at reduced speed
